SUSAN AGER

Journalist. Wrote for the Associated Press in Lansing and San Francisco, the San Jose (Calif.) Mercury News and the Detroit Free Press, 16 years as a columnist. Now freelancing for National Geographic and others. Volunteer in marketing and finance since 2014 for Leelanau UnCaged. Volunteer for ShareCare and Munson Hospice. Cancer survivor.

 

 

LAURIE KUPFERER GRANT

I have worked as a social worker in three states, two nursing homes, and one therapy company. I received my BSW from the University of Missouri in 1974. I am now a happy cherry farmer.

 

 

TERRY GREMEL  

RN, MSN, worked in oncology for 35 years, including 17 as a clinical nurse specialist at Munson. Facilitates two cancer support groups and a memory loss support group for Leelanau County residents. Plays percussion in the Northport Community Band and active in her church. 

 

 

MARY KUZNICKI

Secretary of St. Mary’s parish in Lake Leelanau. Previously worked in the hospitality industry. Busy volunteer with St. Mary’s, including coaching volleyball and singing in the choir. Performs and volunteers at Old Town Playhouse in Traverse City.

 

 

KATHLEEN LABA

Clinical psychologist for Macomb Family Services and Oakland Family Services for 15 years, specializing in marriage and family therapy.  Now volunteers for Leelanau Christian Neighbors, managing the neighborhood assistance ministry and serving on the board. Also on the board of By the Bay garden club in Suttons Bay, and active in her church.

 

 

SANDY LINDLEY

Insurance sales for 32 years, 27 of them with the Larkin Insurance Group. Past president of Leelanau County Chamber of Commerce.  Volunteer for Leelanau Christian Neighbors and Father Fred Foundation. Active member St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

 

 

LINDA SZARKOWSKI

Left real estate development in 2008 to start teaching healthy, plant-based cooking, and by popular request started a weekly prepared meal program. In 2015 she moved from Chicago to Northport to live closer to nature. Now grows and sells microgreens for Green Spirit Living Farm.

 

 

CINDY EDMONDSON

Served four years as Northport's first Community Liaison. Physical Therapist Assistant for 15 years. LCCF beneficiary in 2019 for her late husband, Thomas.
